The island-province of Guimaras will be bringing 1,500 kilos of its mangoes to the Aliwan Festival Trade Fair in CCP Complex, Pasay City from April 21-22, 2017.
Rosario Griesser, Guimaras Mango Growers & Producers Development Cooperative (GMGPDC) president, said the coop, with the help of the Guimaras provincial government, has brought products of all producers in the province, including those of popular brands like McNester and Trappist.
“We have brought Guimaras galleons produced in Brgy. Rizal in Buenavista; mango-based food products like piaya, mango scotch, baked goodies and treats, mango ketchup, mango and mango-calamansi concentrate, and lots more,” she said.
Guimaras occupies two booths in the Aliwan Fest Trade Fair. The coop sells the mango at PHP220 per kilo.
Griesser is upbeat that the province can sell all the fresh mangoes in the two-day event. She said that based on previous trade fairs in Metro Manila the province participated in, the demand for Guimaras Mangoes is growing.
“Based from experience like in the 5th Sikat Pinoy National Food Fair at SM Megamall Mega Trade Hall last March, we can sold the 788 kilos we brought in just two days, but we controlled the daily display so it will last in the week-long event,” she said.(PNA)
